All of our dyes come supplied in high quality leak-proof HDPE bottles which helps prevent leaching into our dyes. What is leaching? If using cheap quality plastic or unsuitable plastic bottles, unwanted compounds attached to the plastic itself can actually be transferred into your dye. This will then be transferred into your final formulation.

There are no set volumes for how much dye to add since every formulation is different. Most recipes provide an amount to add; therefore this is a good starting point. We recommend testing a small amount to a scaled down version of your formulation until the desired colour has been achieved.

After this, conduct all tests with your finished product prior to working with larger volumes/weights of ingredients.

Make a note of how much volume of dye you have added and then scale up. These dyes can be measured using a pipette or weighed. For the highest accuracy and reproducibility we recommend weighting using a two decimal place scale.

These dyes are concentrated therefore for a vibrant colour start with 5mL or 5 grams per 100grams of wax. For Pastel colours use half the volume or weight.
